In memory of Professor A.A. Shebzukhov

On January 18, 2021, Kabardino-Balkarian State University suffered an irreparable loss: Shebzukhov Azmet-Geri Ayubovich — Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Honored Scientist of the KBASSR, laureate of the North Caucasian Scientific Center of Higher Education, passed away, laureate of the State Prize of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic in the field of science and technology, Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Educational Work of KBSU (1991-2012), Head of the Department of Physical Foundations of Micro- and Nanoelectronics, Counselor at the Rector’s Office.

A.A. Shebzukhov left a noticeable mark in the history of KBSU. On his initiative and under his direct supervision, a multi-level and multistage system of training personnel with higher (bachelors, specialists, masters) and secondary vocational education was introduced, a number of new specialties and areas of training for specialists with higher education were opened, including in the field of electronics and microelectronics.

A.A. Shebzukhov is a well-known scientist in the field of surface physics, the founder of a new scientific direction related to the complex study at the macro and micro levels of the laws of segregation, excess stress and excess energy on surfaces and interphase boundaries in multicomponent systems.

Professor A.A. Shebzukhov did a lot of work on the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel, led the dissertation council for the defense of dissertations for the degree of doctor and candidate of sciences in the specialty 01.04.15 — physics and technology of nanostructures, atomic and molecular physics.

Azmet-Geri Ayubovich made a great contribution to the development of integration processes in the implementation of secondary, higher, postgraduate and additional professional education programs at KBSU. As a prominent specialist in the field of organization of higher education, methodology, technology and methodology of the educational process, Professor A.A. Shebzukhov earned the recognition of the scientific community, the academic community of our country, enjoyed great prestige among colleagues from other universities, among the leadership of the Russian education system.

Azmet-Geri Shebzukhov took part in international symposia, conferences, seminars. His scientific works were published in separate editions, published in many high-rating journals.

A.A. Shebzukhov was a man of a sharp, clear mind, an active life position. He was distinguished by adherence to principles, colossal diligence, honesty, justice, high moral culture, devotion to the university.

The staff of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov expresses deep condolences to the family and relatives of Azmet-Geri Ayubovich. The bright memory of the outstanding scientist, teacher will remain in the hearts of colleagues, students, in the history of the university.
