November 7, 2023 at Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov, a 2nd year student at the Medical Academy, Jaber Mohamad, gave a lecture on “First Medical Aid” to foreign students in Arabic.

Before the start of the lecture, the head of the grant department of the UNIID KBSU, curator of the student scientific society of KBSU Aneta Kokoeva outlined the main goals of the SSS, including attracting students to research work; ensuring student participation in seminars, olympiads, competitions, round tables and other events related to scientific activities; providing methodological assistance to students when performing scientific work; organizing meetings with representatives of other institutions related to scientific activities.

The curator named the involvement of foreign students of KBSU in research work as one of the important points in the activities of the student scientific society, assuring that each active student will be provided with methodological assistance.

Introducing Jaber Mohamad, Aneta Kokoeva emphasized that he is one of the participants of the university’s SSS:

“A student at the KBSU Medical Academy with a specialty in General Medicine, Jaber Mohamad received his first medical education at the University of Aleppo with a specialty in Anesthesia and Reanimation and worked for five years at the Aleppo State Hospital. During the coronavirus infection, Mohamad worked in Syria in a hospital in the emergency department. And now he is ready to share his work experience with you.”
Jaber Mohamad told the students in Arabic how to act in emergency situations when an urgent decision to save a patient needs to be made. How to provide first aid for broken bones, fainting, convulsions, bleeding, as well as for foreign objects entering the respiratory tract. The lecturer explained why it is so important to know simple values of the body, such as pulse, pressure, temperature, what these numbers actually mean and what the dangers of an accelerated or, conversely, slowed heartbeat are.

“Of course, one lecture is not enough for students to understand and master all the material. It is important to be able to use your knowledge and not get lost when you see the victim. And every human life saved is priceless!” – Jaber Mohamad is sure.
At the end of the lecture, students received comprehensive answers to their questions and practiced measuring saturation and pressure.
