An open Olympiad in physics was held at KBSU

About 40 high school students of the republic’s schools took part in the open Olympiad for schoolchildren «Laws of nature and technologies of the future», held on February 26 at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov.

This is an intellectual competition, the main purpose of which is to arouse the participants’ interest in physics as an academic subject, to show how physical laws operate in describing specific phenomena in the surrounding world, in their explanation and prediction, — commented the deputy director of the Institute of Physics and Mathematics of the KBSU Jamal Zhaboev. Before the start of the competition, Boris Kunizhev, director of the Institute of Physics and Technology, spoke with future applicants, who spoke about the directions of the institute’s preparation and employment prospects after graduation.

The Olympiad tasks included atypical tasks requiring a non-standard approach. Although, to solve such problems, it was necessary to apply knowledge in the amount of school courses in physics and mathematics. To win the Physics Olympiad, you need to deeply understand physical laws and independently apply them in solving and analyzing problems. The results of the Olympiad will be published on the KBSU website. On March 4, an Olympiad on financial literacy will be held at KBSU for students in grades 9–11.
