Alexey Savvateev held another lesson at the «Yamatematic» school at KBSU

November 11 at the University Boiling Point of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, popularizer of mathematics among children and adults Alexei Savateev held another lesson at the #Yamatematic school, within the framework of the «Circle of Mathematicians» project.

About 50 teachers of the republic, together with Alexei Savvateev, analyzed interesting geometric problems of one of the strongest mathematical schools in Moscow.

The project of training teachers for working with gifted schoolchildren by Alexei Savvateev and ITV | Group on the basis of KBSU began its implementation in September.

«The goal of my whole life is to popularize mathematics, to spread it as widely as possible. I adhere to the categorical view that the most important, the most difficult to eliminate illiteracy is mathematical. Mathematics, unlike all other disciplines, is strictly hierarchical, so if you missed a lesson, you fell out forever. As far as we can, we will try to eliminate these gaps, to return people to the trajectory of a mathematical marathon. We are looking for people who are inclined towards mathematics, and one of the places where this happens is Kabardino-Balkaria. Throughout the year, we will teach teachers what really serious mathematics is, what tasks are posed in the classroom, where future cadres of international mathematical Olympiads, their winners and prize-winners are forged. And in a year the teachers who studied here will be able to teach talented children, whom we will collect from all over the republic, and then we will have here one of the growth points of mathematics in Russia. I believe that, ideally, such a point should be in every region», — commented Alexey Savvateev.

Classes with mathematics teachers within the project will be held once or twice a week during the year under the guidance of either Alexei Savvatev himself or his assistants.

Recall that the plans of the republic’s leadership, with the support of ITV GRUP, are to create a scientific and educational mathematical center for gifted mathematicians in the KBR. The curator of the project is Alexey Savateev.
