A series of seminars on countering extremism and terrorism started at KBSU

The problems of radical behavior among young people were discussed on October 26 at a meeting at the Institute of Law, Economics and Finance of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov. The workshop «Extremism and terrorism as the realization of extreme forms of conflict behavior of young people in modern conditions» brought together experts and specialists in working with youth at the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the IPEiF. The event was attended by more than a hundred employees of the education sector and local administrations from all over Kabardino-Balkaria in full-time and online formats.

«Within the framework of the seminar, we designate a certain vector of the problem. This time, our focus is on the conflict behavior of young people as a source of extremism and terrorism, globalization and digitalization processes, which greatly influence this issue. The problem for the KBR is always relevant, and especially now, in connection with the events in the world», — shared the results of the seminar, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Renata Shibzukhova.

Senior Lecturer of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Hazhmurat Kushkhov made a report on the topic “Conflict behavior as a manifestation of the age characteristics of young people”. The topic «Internet space and mobile applications in the practice of the formation and spread of extremism» was analyzed in detail by the head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Murat Dyshekov.

«We have chosen as project participants a variety of specialists working with youth in educational institutions: schools, universities, colleges, as well as specialists from local administrations from all over the country. Our goal is to outline the existing global problem, to remind once again that the problem of radical behavior among young people is changing along with the world around us, and that young people are those who are primarily at risk. Our task is to update the problem and jointly come up with options for solving it, through work with young people», — Renata Shibzukhova emphasized.

The seminar was held within the framework of the project «Improvement of the system of prevention of extremism and terrorism, countering their ideology among the youth.» Three more workshops and one conference will be held in the future. The lecturers of the Department of History and Theory of State and Law of the IPEiF will continue to make presentations.
