16.5 thousand arguments “for” the new development strategy of KBSU
At Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov hosted an online session devoted to the development of a new strategic development program of KBSU, corresponding to the target indicators of the Strategic Academic Leadership Program, developed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
At the session, held by KBSU Vice Rector for Research Svetlana Hashirova with the leaders of expert groups to develop a new university development strategy, indicators and indicators for each section of the program, main documents that will form its basis, presentation structure and other issues were discussed in detail.
Speaking to colleagues, Svetlana Khashirova noted that the new program of academic strategic leadership will determine our fate for the next 10 years, so we should all be interested not only to enter the program, but also to stay worthy in it, increasing our positions every year.
“KBSU is high enough to enter the new program of academic strategic leadership, over the past 3 years, the contingent has grown by 36%, now about 16.5 thousand students are studying at the university, of which about 13.5 thousand are full-time students, the total income of the university is about 1.9 billion rubles. The proportion of university income from R&D in the total income of the university is 9.7%. KBSU can confidently enter this program in the second way — the basic one, where the university must meet three criteria: at least four thousand full-time students, the total budget of at least one billion rubles and the share of the university’s income from research work — at least 5 percent, ” — noted the vice-rector of KBSU.
She also emphasized that it is the quality of the strategic development program that will determine the possibility of obtaining the status of a reference university and receiving a grant for further development. Moreover, the program should not be formal, but should be a real document with real indicators, indicators and ways to achieve them.
The meeting also noted that the effective implementation of the program of development of the university as a reference university is possible only by launching an effective mechanism of interaction between the university and the region. Therefore, one of the main documents that will form the basis of the new program will be the strategy of socio-economic development of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic until 2040.
Following the session, the leaders of the working groups on the development of the development strategy of KBSU agreed on a work plan for preparing a university development program. Recall that preliminaries for the inclusion of Russian universities in the program of academic strategic leadership will begin in the fall.
