The results of the competition of the Ministry of Education and Science «Student Startup» within the framework of the federal project «Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship» have been published. Four students of the Kabardino-Balkarian University named after. HM. Berbekova were among the winners with unique projects. 2nd year student of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov Dinara Mit presented the project «Demetra» Intelligent system for diagnosing fetal diseases in the early stages of pregnancy. In the field of reproductive medicine, a misdiagnosis can be very costly, so I decided that I wanted to try to reduce the number of these errors by creating convenient and modern software for specialists in this field. At the moment, there are various programs with the introduction of artificial intelligence, also related to medicine, in such areas as pulmonology, cardiology and others.

«And in diagnostics during pregnancy, perhaps the most popular and affordable ways to determine the condition of the fetus are ultrasound screening and tests, and in the case when additional studies are required, an invasive technique. In the first case, inaccuracies are possible, and in the second, there are contraindications. Our program will determine the likelihood of a particular disease only by standard tests that every expectant mother passes during pregnancy. Thus, the doctor will be able to quickly check the program for any patient, even in her absence in the clinic. You need to understand that the program cannot replace a specialist, it should save him time and help in controversial situations», — Dinara Mit explained.

The software using the artificial intelligence system is designed to reduce the percentage of false diagnoses. The creator of the project is looking forward to further cooperation with public and private medical clinics. Demetra has development prospects, we will improve the program and introduce additional functions to help the doctor as much as possible and make his work easier. Ideally, we want to achieve an increase in the accuracy of diagnosis, says Dinara Mit about the plans.

We remind you that according to the results of the competition of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation «Student Startup 2022», 1000 most significant projects of students were selected, of which 4 were developed by KBSU students: «Posture analyze concept» by Dana Shortanova, a student of IS&CHLH, «Creating an ecological map of the area by analyzing samples using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy ( RFES)» by IFIM student Alim Nasipov and «Marketplace for the sale of clothes of Russian brands» by Elnurkhan Geriev, student of IIIIiCT. Each of the 1,000 winners will receive 1 million rubles to create their own science-intensive technologies. The implementation of start-ups will contribute to the fulfillment of the tasks of achieving the technological sovereignty of the country.
