Yuri Shishkin, a second-year master’s student at the Institute of Electronics, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence at Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov and a teacher at the «Sunny City» children’s supplementary education center, was awarded the «Mentor of the Year 2025» award at the 12th All-Russian Finals of the «Young Technicians and Inventors» competition.
The competition, held in the State Duma, is one of the most prestigious events for schoolchildren passionate about science, technology, and engineering. Around 800 young inventors and researchers—future Kulibins—aged 7 to 19, representing 80 regions of the country, including the LPR, DPR, and the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, gathered in Moscow. Participants presented over 650 projects to the jury from various fields: economics, industry, social services, medicine, land and maritime logistics, robotics, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence.
Yuri Shishkin’s students also included winners: Vadim Khvorov won in the «Ecology» category, and Igor Grichanenko won in the «Devices that Change Cities» category.
«I am very happy for my students,» says the young mentor. «This is the result of their hard work and passion for new knowledge. Our goal is to help them unlock their potential and show the world that even young inventors are capable of great discoveries.» The All-Russian «Young Technicians and Inventors» competition is held by the Russian Ministry of Education with the support of the State Duma. Its goal is to support young inventors, promote engineering, and attract talented young people to science and design.
The best projects will be recommended for practical implementation and further support within programs for the development of scientific and technical creativity.
