World Tourism Day was celebrated at KBSU

On September 27, 2023, the professional holiday World Tourism Day under the motto “Kabardino-Balkaria — the pearl of the North Caucasus” was celebrated by the Institute of Management, Tourism and Hospitality Industry of Kabardino-Balkaria State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.

The head of the legal support department of the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the KBR, Dzhabrail Karezhev, the director of the Nalchik City Development Institute «Platform» Oksana Shukhostanova, the general director of the Grand Caucasus hotel Larisa Babugoeva, the general director of the travel agency «Nartiada Tour» came to share the festive mood with the students and teachers of the institute. Opening the meeting, the director of IMTiIG KBSU Ramazan Ligidov congratulated those present on Tourism Day, noting that this holiday is universal:

To you, dear students, I wish more good, interesting projects and their implementation, success in your professional activities. And I invite potential employers of our graduates to close cooperation with our institute. Come to us more often to exchange experiences, conduct master classes, invite us to your events. We are ready to get involved as much as possible in the process of tourism development in our republic. Moreover, this is one of 14 national projects and the government of our republic pays great attention to this area.

At the institute entrusted to Ramazan Ligidov, talented, creative and patriotic children study, who support their native republic with all their hearts. The guests were pleasantly surprised by the projects presented to them by students from the Tourism and Hospitality majors. This is a chatbot for the city of Nalchik “LisaNalchik” by Elizaveta Ponomarenko, “Elbrus Resort — a digital guide for tourists!”, which was presented by a participant in the student expedition Maryana Goshokova, “Ethnomail” by Lyalina Tanasheva and Fatima Beeva, “Increasing the social and environmental responsibility of the tourism business » by Marina Makhosheva, «Geoinformation bot» by Islam Ligidov and Astemir Shiritov.

At the round table, which took place immediately after the presentation of student projects, guests discussed issues related to the development of domestic and inbound tourism in the CBD, and talked about the problems and prospects of the tourism industry.

Hasanbi Afov noted that tourism, along with agriculture, is one of the main directions of development of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

We need qualified personnel. We have good specialists, but not enough young people. And there must be continuity. And regarding vacancies, we intend to cooperate with KBSU,

Khasan Azhakhov spoke about the possibility of student internship at the Narzanov Valley ecopark.

At the end of the round table, guests were invited to an exhibition dedicated to the history, culture and gastronomy of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, which was prepared by 1st and 2nd year students of the “Tourism” and “Hospitality” training areas.
