February 27 at the English speaking club at the Department of Foreign Languages of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov held a regular meeting. The topic of the discussion, held in the “Own Game” format, was Your Appearance is a Mirror of Your Inner World.

The head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Rita Kenetova, noted that the purpose of the meeting was to arouse interest in learning English through discussion of current youth topics that are, at the same time, educational in nature, as well as to provide students with a platform to improve and improve their language skills.

The following questions were brought up for discussion among the participating teams: how does appearance reflect character and inner world, does appearance affect a person’s self-esteem, how to bring one’s appearance into harmony with one’s inner world, etc.

“The tasks were prepared in such a way that students could demonstrate creativity, freedom of thought, and English speaking skills. Since the topic was close and interesting to them, the guys showed not only a high level of English language proficiency, but also knowledge of psychology, sociology and culture. Throughout the meeting, the club participants spoke only English,”
– commented Rita Kenetova.

Guests Madina Karchaeva and her sister Dzhamiliya Karchaeva, who have been living and working abroad for many years, and a teacher at the Department of Foreign Languages, Venera Salbieva, who has worked in London for twenty years, were also members of the jury.

The students were inspired by the good English of the guests and asked them questions about the characteristics and norms of appearance of people from other countries.

Rita Kenetova thanked the club members and guests for the interesting discussion, noting that the competitive spirit that was present during the game contributed to the generation and free expression of their thoughts in English.
