V Regional Championship Worldskills Russia 2021 at KBSU

28 college students of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov took part in the V Regional Championship «Young Professionals» (Worldskills Russia) 2021 in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, which started on March 1.

Competitions in four competencies of the championship «Preschool education», «Teaching in the lower grades», «Orthopedic dentistry», «Web design and development» are held at the sites of three colleges of KBSU.

So, on March 2, at the College of Information Technologies and Economics, the contestants began to fulfill the task of Module 1 of the “Web Design and Development” competence, which includes the development of the site design, the layout of the site according to the layout and the development of the client part of the site.

Further, within the framework of Modules 2 and 3, participants will be engaged in the development of the server side of the site. The objective of Module 4 is to develop a website using a content management system.

An important nuance, experts will evaluate only those projects that the contestants upload to the server.

In the new building of the KBSU Medical College, competitions are being held on the new competence for the republic «Orthopedic Dentistry».

Students of 1-3 courses of the medical college of KBSU take part in the competition. Contestants are evaluated by practicing dentists orthopedists — former college graduates. On March 2, the participants were engaged in the manufacture of a wax reproduction of the base with occlusal overlays.

At the pedagogical college of KBSU, the participants of the championship demonstrate their professional skills in two competencies — «Teaching in lower grades» (main group and juniors) and «Preschool education» (main group and juniors).

The first day of the competition of the championship in the “Preschool education” competence was remembered for the completion of the tasks of Module A “Teaching and education of preschool children” by the contestants. Future educators had to develop and conduct an integrated speech development lesson (expressive reading) with a subgroup of children with the inclusion of a didactic game on ICT equipment. The «children» were volunteers from among the students of the pedagogical college.

On the same day, within the framework of Module B «Interaction with parents (legal representatives) and employees of the educational organization», the girls were engaged in the development of a joint project of the educator, children and parents, preparation of a presentation on the stages of the project and its results using ICT to deliver a report on the project at parent meeting.

In the future, «educators» will show their skills in conducting an integrated lesson on cognitive development (virtual excursion in a mobile dome) and robotics, organizing free joint activities of a teacher with preschool children (with elements of independent activities of children), as well as in drawing up an afternoon regimen in kindergarten.

The Competition Assignments for the Teaching in Elementary Schools competency include five modules. The competition began with the preparation and conduct of a training interactive for parents on the topic «In the world of professions» (Module D). On the same day, the participants of the championship demonstrated the ability to post prepared material on the teacher’s personal website (Module E).

Also, future teachers within the framework of Module A will prepare and conduct a fragment of a lesson in primary grades in one of the subjects using interactive equipment. Primary school students of the secondary school №14 will help the contestants. Module B involves the development and demonstration of level learning assignments that ensure the assimilation of a specific topic in one of the academic subjects.

The competition in pedagogical competence will end with the tasks of Module C «Organization of project activities of students in extracurricular activities using interactive equipment», which includes the development of a roadmap for the organization of extracurricular project activities and preparation and demonstration of the research phase of the project in an extracurricular lesson.

The performances of the contestants are evaluated by an expert commission from among the college teachers and invited qualified specialists for each of the competencies.

The V Regional Championship «Young Professionals» (Worldskills Russia) 2021 in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic will end on March 5. At the closing ceremony of the championship, the names of the winners and prize-winners will be announced.
