«University Shifts — 2025» Started at KBSU
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov has once again joined the federal project «University Shifts». The Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex of KBSU accepted the first 140 schoolchildren from the Lugansk People’s Republic. In total, 1,550 high school students from different regions of Russia, including new territories, will take part by the end of autumn.
The program developed by Kabardino-Balkarian State University is designed for 10 days and includes several areas: the study of history, ecology and cultural studies, acquaintance with university life, as well as sports and entertainment events. Particular attention is paid to psychological support for children from new territories of the Russian Federation.
«University Shifts» offer high school students new knowledge and skills, acquaintance with the university, assistance in choosing a profession and an unforgettable vacation in the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria. One of the priority tasks of the project is to assist in the psychological rehabilitation of children from the DPR and LPR, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions,
— said the director of the camp, head of the center for assessment and development of competencies of KBSU Oleg Balov.
Participants will have excursions around KBSU, master classes from university teachers, business games and trainings. Schoolchildren will also go on hikes to natural attractions: the rock formations «Sand Castles» and the glacier «Shkhelda». Sports competitions, creative evenings and quests will complement the program, ensuring a balance between study and rest.
By November 2025, 11 streams are planned, each of which will accept students from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. The program is implemented by experienced teachers, psychologists and medical workers, providing comprehensive support and safety of participants. The initiator of the project is the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.
