Topical issues of assistance to cardiological patients are considered at a scientific and educational conference in KBSU
Experts from the leading therapeutic schools of the North Caucasian Federal District, as well as near and far abroad, took part in the XII Scientific and Educational Conference of Cardiologists and Therapists of the Caucasus, which was held online on November 29-30, 2022 on the basis of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov.
The scientific and discussion platform was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Representative Office of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District, the Cardioprogress Foundation for the Promotion of Cardiology, the Government of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, KBSU, the State Research Center for Preventive Medicine, the Russian Society of Cardiology, Russian Scientific Medical Society of Therapists and Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Medical Society of Therapists.
Murat Umetov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Faculty Therapy of the KBSU, Chairman of the Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Society of Therapists, said that the speeches of representatives of the medical scientific community and practicing physicians are devoted to the most pressing issues, such as improving the organization of care for cardiological patients, emergency and first aid for cardiac — vascular and other somatic diseases; introduction of new medical technologies in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of cardiac patients; risk factors arising from cardiovascular diseases, comorbid diseases (conditions) in the practice of a cardiologist and therapist. As part of the plenary session, a report was heard on the prevalence of cardiovascular pathology among adolescents from Professor Senay Chitinkaya, who presented the University of Chukurov (Adana, Turkey) at the forum.
Important areas of primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases and other chronic non-communicable diseases, taking into account regional characteristics, as well as analytical data on the dynamics of morbidity and mortality from chronic non-communicable diseases in the North Caucasus Federal District over the past 5 years, were presented by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head Department of Secondary Prevention of Chronic NCDs, National Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Russia (Moscow) Mehman Niyazi oglu Mammadov. Suleiman Mammaev, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Hospital Therapy No. 1 of the DSMU of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, chief freelance specialist therapist, gastroenterologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District, announced a new procedure for conducting dispensary observation of adults in the Russian Federation.
He also familiarized the audience with the results of the analysis of the main causes of death in the North Caucasus Federal District for the first half of 2022. The report of KBSU professor Murat Umetov was devoted to the issues of the ethno-cultural code of health as a new paradigm of preventive medicine. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Faculty Therapy of the Faculty of Medicine of the KBSU Inessa Zhurtova delivered a lecture «Obesity, diabetes, hypogonadism in men — where to start.»
The work of the conference was held within the framework of a number of thematic symposiums: the Russian-Azerbaijani symposium «Rhythm Disorders and Comorbidity», the symposium on active issues of cardiology of the SOGMA «Cardiovascular Continuum», the symposium «Epidemiology, prevention and rehabilitation of chronic NCDs», the symposium of the Stavropol Medical University «Chronic non-infectious diseases in the practice of a general practitioner”, a symposium of the Dagestan State Medical University “Clinical lectures on cardiology and pulmonology”.
The symposium of KBSU «Comorbidity in cardiology» presented the results of research by medical scientists of the university. Liliya Elgarova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases of the KBSU, introduced the audience to modern algorithms for the diagnosis and treatment of arterial hypertension in patients with chronic kidney disease. Irina Almova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, KBSU, spoke about the possibilities of radiation diagnostics, highlighting in detail the tasks of radiation research, the criteria for choosing a research method, the advantages and disadvantages of the most commonly used methods of radiation diagnostics.
Inara Khakuasheva, cardiologist, assistant of the Department of Faculty Therapy of the Faculty of Medicine of the KBSU, spoke about the features of the course of arterial hypertension and coronary heart disease in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on endothelial dysfunction. Modern approaches to the organization of medical care for the elderly and senile people were discussed in the report “At the appointment of an elderly patient, or where geriatrics begins” by the chief freelance specialist-geriatrician of the Ministry of Health of the KBR, geriatric doctor of the GKUZ “Geriatric Center” of the Ministry of Health of the KBR, Nalchik Fatima Dumanova and Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Aksana Kardangusheva, Department of Public Health, Health Care and Preventive Medicine of the Medical Faculty of the KBSU.
