The work of the basic department of competition law and antimonopoly regulation was discussed at KBSU

On September 17, a working meeting was held between the acting rector of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov Yuri Altudov and the head of the Kabardino-Balkarian UFAS of Russia Anna Kumakhova.

In 2023, the basic department of competition law and antimonopoly regulation resumed its work at the university under the leadership of Anna Kumakhova. During the meeting, the results of the basic department’s activities in the 2023-2024 academic year were discussed.

Thus, during the specified period, about 60 3rd-year students of the 40.03.01 Jurisprudence program successfully completed the special course «Competition Law». In accordance with the Roadmap of the department, 5 master classes were held on the areas of activity of the antimonopoly authority. As part of career guidance, excursions to the Kabardino-Balkarian UFAS of Russia were organized and conducted for students.

The department actively participated in events organized by the university, including Anna Kumakhova, who made presentations at scientific and practical conferences and forums held at the university. Interaction with the scientific community made it possible to prepare joint material for the federal scientific and practical journal «Competition Law» (HAC K1). The article «Development of a competitive environment in the areas of economic activity of unitary enterprises (on the example of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic)» was published in the second issue of the journal for 2023.

The work of the basic department in the research direction continues. In February 2024, students and teachers of KBSU took part in a unique educational course of online webinars «Fundamentals of Antimonopoly Regulation in Russia», listening to lectures from the country’s leading antimonopoly experts. Upon completion of the online course, students who successfully passed the test received a certificate of certification from the Academy of the Association of Antimonopoly Experts.

The university management noted the importance of the work carried out by the Kabardino-Balkarian UFAS of Russia in the formation and development of the university’s human resources, including through the opportunity for students to undergo practical training and internships in the antimonopoly authority. They also supported the practice-oriented approach in the educational process of the basic department.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed joint events planned for the 2024/2025 academic year.
