The Russian language Olympiad was held at KBSU among foreign students

«We have been given the richest, most accurate, powerful and truly magical Russian language» — under the motto of Konstantin Paustovsky’s quote, the Russian language Olympiad was held at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU). The participants were future specialists from 30 countries of the world studying at the preparatory department of the Higher School of International Education.

The Olympiad was held in two stages. The first was written. The students wrote an essay and also showed off their knowledge of lexical subtleties in the «Synonyms» and «Antonyms» competitions.

The final, oral part turned into a creative competition. Poems of famous poets, songs, jokes, tongue twisters, proverbs and sayings were recited from the stage.

As noted by the director of the Higher School of International Relations Asiyat Zhurtova, foreign students demonstrated a good command of the Russian language. Future humanitarians showed themselves better. They won in all 12 nominations of the Olympiad.
