In 2012, Murat Kabardokov, Mikhail Golikov and the head of the radio service of the VTK Kabardino-Balkaria Marianna Teuvazhukova created the famous project Symphony of the Caucasus. For such a unique work done for our culture, our history, our republic, its authors were nominated for the state prize of Russia. They reached the final, and at the first concert held in Nalchik on December 25, 2013, the head of the republic presented them with well-deserved awards. Mikhail Golikov and Murat Kabardokov received the honorary titles of People’s Artists of Kabardino-Balkaria, Marianna Teuvazhukova was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the KBR.
Mikhail Golikov, the chief conductor of the Leningrad Region Symphony Orchestra, told about what awaits the audience at the upcoming concert at the Musical Theater:
Fortunately, we are with our team again in the North Caucasus. Part of my heart is here. That layer of culture, which we began to raise and acquaint the viewer with it, is so multifaceted that it can be dealt with for many lives. I am glad that in our big concert tomorrow, along with the treasury of Circassian culture, new works and interesting adaptations will be performed. I am glad that the premiere of Murat Kabardokov’s oratorio dedicated to the statesman and military leader Alexander Nevsky, whose birthday this year marks 800 years, will sound fragmentary. Our entire program is based on a combination of works from the Venice of the North and the North Caucasus.
The program of our today’s concert at the university is dedicated to Andrey Petrov. Many of his favorite films have survived thanks to his music.
I would be honored to speak in front of a student audience within the walls of KBSU. I understand how responsible it is, but I am sure that the listeners will fall in love with Petrov’s music from the very first notes.
Nafset Chenib and Asker Berbekov, multiple winner of world music competitions, performer of the final composition at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Paralympic Games, spoke about their impressions of working with the Leningrad Region Symphony Orchestra.
