The United Council of Veterans (Pensioners) of War, Labor, Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov summed up the work for the past year and outlined new tasks.
As the Chairman of the University Veterans’ Council, Khasan Shurdumov, emphasized, the work will be carried out within the framework of the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, declared by the President of Russia, and is aimed at preparing for and celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
The head of the KBSU Educational Work Department, Rezuan Kumykov, spoke about the events planned at the university in honor of the holiday. The list includes about fifty commemorative events, rallies, meetings and flash mobs.
All monuments in KBSU will be improved by the 80th anniversary of the Victory. A design project for the reconstruction of the monument near the main building of the university is currently being developed. The memorial was erected in memory of the university staff and students who died during the Great Patriotic War. It was also decided to tidy up and landscape the area around the monument to graduates and teachers of the medical school who died during the Great Patriotic War.
Particular attention will be paid to veterans who celebrate their anniversary in 2025.
We are currently refining the list of our anniversaries. Last year, 15 people celebrated their 80th anniversary. In honor of this event, the university allocated them financial assistance for a total of 115 thousand rubles. The university also provided financial support to veterans during the celebration of the Great Victory, the decade of the elderly, and the New Year. In total, the university allocated 380 thousand rubles for these purposes in 2024,
— said Hasan Shurdumov.
