The region’s opportunities and prospects for the development of the UAS industry were discussed in KBSU
On August 14, 2024, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov hosted a design session «Opportunities and Prospects of the Region in the Development of the UAS Industry» with the participation of representatives of regional authorities, industrial partners and university employees.
The key topics of discussion were the prospects for the use of unmanned aircraft systems in various sectors of the economy, the role of research and production centers in the development of the industry, a practice-oriented and economically feasible approach to the formation of the concept for the development of unmanned aviation.
The session participants were shown various approaches to the formation of a modular structure of research and production centers for unmanned aircraft systems and the practical implementation of these approaches.
Before the start of the educational part, deputy minister of Industry, Energy and Trade of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Eldar Kyarov thanked the leading expert team in the field of UAS in Russia for methodological assistance and support, wished fruitful work and expressed hope for a productive end result of the starting session.
We have a big mission — to develop a new industry in our country called «Unmanned Aircraft Systems». The main task of our team, which we have set for ourselves, is to familiarize you with the basics, with the basis on which this industry will be built, to analyze each aspect,
— the head of the Center for Analysis and Development of the ANO «Federal Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems» Dmitry Letunov outlined the purpose of the visit.
Then the expert spoke about the national project «Unmanned Aircraft Systems» (UAS), what it consists of, what measures of state support and tools it contains, allowing this industry to appear in the country.
Dmitry Letunov called the creation of research and production centers one of the main and key tools for the development of the industry.
This will be a whole network, a system of UAV competence centers. And today we will try to work out the concept of a research and production center that is planned to be created in your republic. What will it consist of and what preferences and opportunities will it give to the region, the republic,
— noted an employee of the Federal UAV Center.
As an example, he spoke about a universal large R&D center created on the basis of the Moscow government in the Rudnevo industrial park, where an entire research and production ecosystem will be assembled, ensuring a full cycle of development, testing, certification and serial production of various types of drones.
The participants of the design session also learned in which industries drones are already used, how they are used, what services and tasks can be solved with their help. Opinions on how this experience can be applied in the KBR, what difficulties may arise along the way, were expressed by representatives of the ministries of the republic.
Vice-rector of KBSU for Promising Projects Tanzilya Makhieva reported that tomorrow’s day of the strategic educational session will be devoted to the federal project «Personnel for UAS» of the national project «Unmanned Aircraft Systems of the Russian Federation».
Today, we have certain results in it. In the area of education in terms of training personnel for youth engineering teams, we have passed the competitive selection and will receive federal support to ensure the training of personnel capable of working effectively in the rapidly developing industry of unmanned technologies.
In the system of continuous education, within the framework of 19 events of federal projects and national programs, we have trained about 73,000 residents of the country from 64 subjects. In 2024, work was carried out with the industrial sector of the region.
We are actively working for the future — about 3,500 students and schoolchildren have been trained in modern programming languages under additional general development programs,
— Tanzilya Makhieva commented.
