The English club of KBSU discussed the issue of money
The next meeting of the English conversation club of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov was held in the form of debates. The topic of the dispute was “Money Matters: Is Happiness Possible Without Money?” (Money matters: is it possible to live a happy life without it?). The students were divided into two camps: some insisted that finances are inseparable from well-being, while others claimed that happiness is not in money.
Supporters of the first position pragmatically stated that money is the key to peace and success. It helps to achieve many goals, ensure a bright, varied life, and expand the range of opportunities.
Opponents objected, “Happiness cannot be bought. Health, love, friendship – make life fulfilling.”
Despite the polarity of opinions, the participants agreed on one thing: money is important, but not everything is measured by the size of your wallet. Happiness is to find your purpose in life. The students acknowledged that material well-being and spiritual values are complementary.
The organizers of the meeting, teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages Karina Oshroeva and Zalina Apikova, thanked the students for their involvement and courage in expressing their thoughts in English.
