The “Digital Department” project was launched at KBSU

September 18, 2023 at Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov is launching a new program of additional professional education — the professional retraining program “Introduction to programming and the basics of medical information systems”.

The day before, on September 14, 2023, detailed explanations were given about this at a meeting between the head of the Digital Departments project, Albert Shapsigov, and the deputy director of the medical academy for educational and career guidance, Zareta Kambachokova, with students of the medical academy of KBSU.

The goal of training students in this program is to obtain competencies in the field of “Communications, information and communication technologies” — in terms of the formation of digital competencies in the field of creating algorithms and computer programs suitable for practical use, as well as proficiency in the functionality of specialized (applied) software products in the field «Healthcare».

Training is provided free of charge.

During the meeting, they discussed organizational issues, competencies that students will be able to develop, Albert Shapsigov also shared his experience in implementing the programs of the “Digital Departments” project in the 2022-2023 academic year, spoke about the opportunities that will open up for graduates of medical specialties who have the skills to work with medical information systems.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, 781 undergraduate, specialist and master’s students from KBSU successfully completed their studies and received a new profession in the IT field.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, the “Digital Department” of KBSU announced enrollment in three additional professional programs (professional retraining programs) in the field of information technology:

«Introduction to programming and basics of medical information systems»
«Big Data Analysis»
“Fundamentals of algorithmization and database management systems.”
All programs have successfully passed the examination, which is carried out by experts selected by the ANO Digital Economy.

The “Digital Department” project has been launched at KBSU since July 2022 as part of a joint project of the Ministry of Digital Development and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia to develop human resources in the IT field and is being implemented within the framework of the strategic academic leadership program “Priority-2030” (https://priority2030.ru/)
