The Center for Psychological Assistance operates at KBSU

Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov created a center for psychological assistance to the population https://t.me/psyhelp_kbsu The task of a small innovative enterprise with the status of a limited liability company is the practical application of the results of the intellectual activity of psychologists. As the head of the center, deputy director for research work and informatization of the Institute of Pedagogics, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education of the KBSU, candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor Rimma Bagova, explained, as part of the educational process, the institute staff provide psychological assistance to students. Since the demand for such services is great and various organizations work in this direction on a commercial basis in the KBR, it was decided to create a specialized center in the largest university of the republic.

Together with Ph.D. in Psychology, Associate Professor of the IPPiFSO Budimir Nagoev and Rimma Bagova, a psychological training was developed to develop the skills of conscious parenthood «School of Parental Competence», participation in which will help parents to re-aware and re-evaluate the usual strategies for interacting with a child, learn how to effectively communicate with him, correctly to formulate one’s thoughts and feelings, express approval or censure without disturbing psychological contact. The first classes were held at the «Boiling Point» of KBSU with the participation of university staff with children. The meeting was devoted to the formation of interaction in the group and the analysis of parental experience: what is easy to achieve in interaction with children, what is difficult, what would you like to change, what to learn. The difficulties associated with the current situation of growing up, including the communication of children in the Internet space, were discussed.

The Center for Psychological Assistance of KBSU is a partner of the social project “Student Psychological and Pedagogical Team “For a Stress-Free School!”, which became the winner of the All-Russian competition of youth projects among individuals at the North Caucasus Forum “Mashuk-2021”. Master student of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education of the KBSU Zhaneta Tkhagapsova is the head of this project aimed at providing psychological and pedagogical support to students in rural schools of the KBR. The project team developed tests on the topic «Psychology of stress». Students and undergraduates of the IPPiFSO took part in the quest game “Have you signed up as a volunteer?”. During the first stage, which was conducted remotely due to the epidemic situation, 23 finalists were selected based on the test results. The final of the quest was held in a face-to-face format, the best participants were included in the visiting psychological and pedagogical team to work with schoolchildren, who will be taught psychological techniques for overcoming school stress, maladaptation, ways to improve self-control and self-confidence. Employees of the center conduct individual diagnostics and consulting upon request, organize trainings, master classes.
