The best teachers of KBSU according to students

The results of the public student competition “Best Teacher” were summed up for the first time at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. The award ceremony took place at the methodological council with the participation of directors of the university’s structural divisions.

The “Best Teacher” competition is aimed at increasing the prestige of the teaching profession, the quality of education and the motivation of university teaching staff to improve their professional activities.

The competition was held in two stages: in the first, qualifying, structural divisions of the university submitted candidates for the competition. The second stage — an anonymous survey of university students was conducted in areas of science and knowledge and included 7 questions about the quality of the educational, social and educational activities of the teacher.

A total of 62 teachers of higher and secondary professional levels took part in the competition.

Among the teachers of structural units implementing educational programs of higher education, the winner was Professor of the Department of Architecture and Design, Doctor of Art History Fatima Kanokova.

Among the teachers of structural units implementing educational programs of secondary vocational education, the winner was Svetlana Shigalugova, a teacher at the medical college.

Certificates were presented to the winners by the acting first vice-rector — vice-rector for academic affairs Vadim Lesev.

It is very important that it was the students who made the choice of the winners, assessing both the personal and professional qualities of the contestants. We hope that this competition will become a good tradition at the university, will attract as many teachers as possible, increase the prestige of teaching, and motivate teachers to improve in their profession,”
– Vadim Lesev noted.

In addition to certificates, the winners are presented with bonuses.

The head of the department of educational innovations and digital technologies of KBSU, Asker Vakashev, told the heads of educational departments about the conditions of the competition, selection criteria and announced the start of accepting candidates for the 2024 competition.
