Studying at the medical faculty of KBSU is difficult, responsible, but interesting
On October 27, an open day was held at the Medical Faculty of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov. Zareta Kambachokova, Deputy Dean for Educational and Career Guidance, Professor of the Department of Hospital Therapy of the Faculty of Medicine, told about the structure of the Faculty of Medicine, areas of study, the number of budget places, institutions where future doctors practice, and much more to applicants and their parents.
«The history of the Faculty of Medicine begins in 1966. In 2022, he turned 60 years old — a respectable age for any department of the university. The building in which the medical faculty is located is of historical and architectural value and is located in one of the most picturesque corners of the city of Nalchik», — said Zareta Kambachokova.
High school students learned that at present the medical faculty of KBSU consists of 15 departments. Students study in three specialties «Medicine», «Pediatrics», «Pharmacy». For the effective implementation of the modern educational process, a simulation center operates at the Faculty of Medicine, where simulators for developing medical skills, realistic models of human body organs, anatomical posters, and demonstration computer programs are used. Recently, the faculty has a modern virtual anatomical table, which has a built-in atlas with 3D illustrations of normal human anatomy and pathologies, it allows you to demonstrate anatomical structures with high accuracy and maximum realism and animate the activity of organs and systems of the body.
Zareta Kambachokova warned schoolchildren that studying at the medical faculty is a huge job, you need a lot of patience to master the program. It is also necessary to love people and be ready to help at any moment. As part of the visit, potential applicants of the Faculty of Medicine went on an excursion to the Anatomical Museum, where Albina Pshukova, Associate Professor of the Department of Normal and Pathological Anatomy, told them about the structure of human organs and systems, based on natural demonstration preparations. Students learned many important facts about their bodies. Then the guys had a unique opportunity under the guidance of Eldar Soltanov, Associate Professor of the Department of Faculty Endoscopic Surgery of the Medical Faculty of the KBSU, to feel like a real doctor and perform several medical manipulations on simulators. The most daring schoolchildren practiced their skills in intramuscular and intravenous injections, in first aid.
«It is very interesting and at the same time responsible. After all, any wrong step can harm a person. Therefore, responsible people should become doctors, ready to respond quickly and make the right decisions if necessary», — the high school students themselves summed up the results of their visit.
