Students of the medical college of KBSU took part in the nationwide «subbotnik»

100 students removed 100 kg of rubbish in 325 minutes — such was the clean-up in numbers, conducted by the staff of the Medical College of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov last weekend. Students, teachers and staff of the college took part in the cleaning of the territory adjacent to the institution, joining the nationwide environmental campaign dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. Director of the Medical College of KBSU Svetlana Pshibieva said that they hold such events every year and it is a tradition to help students clean up the territory before the start of the new academic year.

“I am pleased to note that our subbotnik coincided not only with the national one, but we are also diligently preparing for the 100th anniversary of our republic, the 90th anniversary of the KBSU and the 90th anniversary of the medical college,” — Svetlana Vladimirovna shared. Armed with the necessary equipment, students and teachers cleaned up the area near all the college buildings: they collected garbage, leaves and dry grass, also whitewashed all the curbs and did not bypass the monument to the fallen heroes. “Looking at the well-coordinated work of the guys, we can safely say that the subbotnik is a necessary and useful thing not only to restore order, but also to maintain team spirit among students and teachers. I am proud that our students, future doctors, in practice prove that they love both their college and their republic,” — said Svetlana Pshibieva.

At the same time, the largest community work day was held in the resort areas of the city, which brought together about 10,000 people. The floodplain of the Nalchik River was cleared, including the area from the 1000-step bridge to the suspension bridge to the Dolinsk boarding house, further to the Kizilovka camp site, as well as areas near the lakes. Cleaning was carried out in parks and squares. Subbotniks were held in all cities and rural areas of the region.

The collected garbage was taken to the landfill. The environmental action was attended by the teams of the Administration of the Head of the KBR, the Local Administration of the city. Nalchik, ministries, departments, municipalities, organizations and enterprises of the republic, local authorities, public and youth organizations, residents of municipalities.
