Students of the Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery of KBSU took part in a charity event of the Republican Dental Center named after T.Kh. Tkhazaplizhev

Employees of the Republican Dental Center named after T.Kh. Tkhazaplizhev under the guidance of the chief physician Asiyat Khamukova together with students of the Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov held a charity event in a boarding school for orphans and children left without parental care, No. 5 of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Affairs of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic in Nartan.

In the dental office of the boarding school, the compressor did not function for two years. For the prevention and treatment of dental diseases, children had to be taken out of the boarding school. The compressor purchased by the medical workers will allow to resume the necessary work within the walls of this institution,

An educational lesson in oral hygiene was held in a playful way with the participation of invited animators. 190 participants of the action received gift sets for oral care.

The action became one of the events within the framework of the international children’s educational program «Dazzling Smile for Life», which is carried out by the Dental Association of Russia, and the youth project «Dental Education — the Whole Republic», supported by a grant from Rosmolodezh at the educational forum «Mashuk-2020».

Thanks to a large team of professionals from the healthcare institution, the faculty of the university, clinical residents and students, in 2021, field events were organized in educational institutions in Nalchik, Tersky, Leskensky, Chegemsky and Baksansky districts of the KBR.

The educational part included educational group sessions — showing thematic cartoons, oral health lessons, games depending on the age category of the target audience. The practical part was held in the format of group and individual master classes using large jaw models with teeth and thematic information stands, during which students consolidated the skills of proper teeth cleaning. Actions aimed at preserving the health of the younger generation will be held in many educational and socio-educational institutions of the republic.
