Students of KBSU distinguished themselves at the IT school

June 1 and 2, students of the Institute of Informatics, Electronics and Robotics of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov took part in the IT-school of young scientists «Modern IT-technologies for solving scientific problems», which was held at the North Ossetian State University named after K. L. Khetagurova.

In total, 5 students from KBSU went to the forum. All of them showed good results in the field of modern IT technologies, and according to the results of the competitive procedures of the IT school, the 2nd year students of the IEEiR KBSU Islam Tlupov and Alim Gershishev became the best programmers.

As noted by the doctor of technical sciences, professor, head of the department of computer technologies and information security of the IIEiR KBSU Tatyana Khashirova, the organization of the IT school was at a high level.

Participation in the IT school of young scientists «Modern IT technologies for solving scientific problems» for our students is both a great responsibility and good luck, because they could communicate with students from other universities, as well as learn a lot of new and useful things. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the organizers for the rich and fruitful program, its high professional level, the relevance of the topics proposed, friendly atmosphere and new contacts.
The organization of the conference, in my opinion, was impeccable, representatives of the organizers were always available. I would also like to express my gratitude to the leadership of our university for the opportunity to participate in the IT school, for organizing the trip. Next year we also plan to take part in the work of the school, we are thinking of assembling an already more numerous team,

The curriculum consisted of five topics: high-performance computing technologies for solving applied problems, machine learning methods for environmental monitoring and pollution prediction, machine and deep learning for applied radiobiology problems, virtualization and cloud technologies, and mobile development.

The lecturers were specialists from the Information Center of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, the Educational and Scientific Center and the International School of Information Technologies of the K. L. Khetagurova.

The main goals of the IT school were to familiarize the participants with modern methods of solving applied problems on the latest computing equipment using parallel programming technologies, as well as gaining practical experience in solving applied problems in areas related to various aspects of megaprojects.

About one hundred young scientists and students from the South of Russia took part in the educational project.
