Strategic session at MGIMO with participation of representatives of HSIE KBSU

Employees of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov – director of the Higher School of International Education Asiyat Zhurtova and head of the Department of International Cooperation Alina Duguzheva are taking part in the work of the strategic session “Adaptation and development of strategy and practice of interaction with foreign students”, which is taking place at the site of the Project Office of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, operating on the basis of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Development of a comprehensive approach to increasing the efficiency of work with foreign students in educational institutions of higher education in Russia is the main goal of the organizers of the event.

Representatives of the management team and directors of structural divisions of higher education institutions supervising work with foreign students will have to identify key knowledge and skills, discuss existing problems and challenges, consider successful practices and methods of working with foreign students, and collect proposals for filling the program of additional professional education for specialists working with foreign students.

Based on the results of the strategic session, a list of key competencies necessary for effective work with foreign students will be determined, and the structure and content of the program of additional professional education for specialists working with foreign students will be developed.

Asiyat Zhurtova, director of the HSIE KBSU, shared her impressions:

First of all, our participation in this event is a huge experience of interaction with specialists in the field of working with foreign students. My colleagues and I clearly identified and formulated a list of general and specific problems that we encounter in our work, and worked out models of possible solutions to these problems. The ability to build effective relationships with foreign students is very important for us. Their comfortable stay in our country and, as a consequence, the positive image of Russia abroad depend on this.
