Сompetencies in the field of artificial intelligence and centers for the formation of military professional competencies of students
On December 8, 2022, on December 8, 2022, KBSU Rector Yury Altudov took part in a meeting that Yuri Chaika, presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, held in Pyatigorsk with rectors of 22 universities in the macroregion.
According to the Interfax-South agency, Y. Chaika believes that higher educational institutions of the North Caucasus Federal District need to pay special attention to training personnel for the field of artificial intelligence. According to him, the president of the country has set the task of restructuring the educational programs of universities in order to ensure a sufficient level of competencies in the field of artificial intelligence among specialists in key sectors of the economy and the social sphere. We are talking about both training students and improving the skills of existing specialists.
“As you know, from the current academic year, future doctors, teachers, agronomists, lawyers, industry, communications and transport workers can optionally choose a special educational module on artificial intelligence with the study of the basic principles of machine learning and data processing. We must ensure a high level of teaching in this area in the North Caucasus,” the plenipotentiary noted. Yuri Chaika also clarified that countries are now competing to see who can «earlier and more successfully use the potential of artificial intelligence for accelerated development.»
“It is likely that in the near future it will be impossible to talk about the full sovereignty of the state without using the multilateral capabilities of artificial intelligence, including in the field of economy, industry, science, education and, of course, security,” — Chaika stressed.
The head of KBSU Yu. Altudov expressed his gratitude to Yuri Chaika, the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District for supporting the initiatives of the heads of universities, including KBSU, aimed at improving the efficiency of higher education organizations.
“Our successes are based on the achievements in the implementation of the development strategy of the North Caucasus Federal District. University development programs are synchronized with the subjects’ development programs. The positive image of the North Caucasus, formed by the joint efforts of the authorities and society, allows universities to effectively participate in the process of exporting education and attract residents of other federal districts to study. For example, in KBSU, where 18,000 people study, 10% of students are citizens of foreign countries, and 15% are residents of other regions of Russia. The university has structures in which training is conducted in the areas of development of artificial intelligence. The state has developed various tools, including programs and projects, to involve young people in training in artificial intelligence-related competencies. “It depends on us how many young people we will be able to involve in this process,” — Yuri Altudov emphasized and said that the university was among the 21 providers (among them several universities) of the “Code of the Future” program for teaching schoolchildren 8-10- x classes (including online) programming methods.
This is a new component of the federal project «Development of human resources in the IT industry» of the national program «Digital Economy of the Russian Federation», implemented by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation with the assistance of ANO «Tsifrovaya ekonomika» and the project operator — the University of the National Technology Initiative 2035″. Regions of the North Caucasus Federal District, including universities that are interested in attracting applicants prepared to study in the field of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, can actively join the process of including high school students in learning programming languages through the Code of the Future program.
The document “Fundamentals of the State Policy for the Preservation and Strengthening of Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values”, approved by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. knowledge and skills, capable of realizing their potential in the conditions of modern society, ready for peaceful construction and defense of the Fatherland.
