Sociologist Day was celebrated at KBSU
November 17, Social and Humanitarian Institute of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov celebrated Sociologist Day.
“On November 14, 1901, the Russian Higher School of Social Sciences was opened in Paris, which some experts consider to be the first experience of a sociological faculty in the history of world science. Lectures at the Russian Higher School were given by leading sociologists and politicians of Russia: M. Kovalevsky, N. Kareev, E. De Roberti, P. Milyukov and others. That’s why this date was chosen for the holiday,”
– explained the host of the festive evening, 1st year student of the direction “Sociology” Jamilya Kazieva.
Students from general educational institutions of the republic came to share the holiday with students and teachers of the SGI KBSU.
The Social and Humanitarian Institute was represented by the Deputy Director of the SGI for Education Quality Management, Head. Department of Organization of Work with Youth Elena Nalchikova.
Timur Aramisov, Deputy Head of the Department for Pre-University Training and Career Guidance at KBSU, expressed hope that in the next admissions campaign, the schoolchildren present will come with their certificates to KBSU.
We invited you to visit us for the Sociologist’s Day holiday, so that you gradually get acquainted with our university, our institute and the direction of training “Social work”. KBSU is a classic university in the south of Russia. We are among the 100 leading universities in the country. More than 300 areas of training are presented here, i.e. Every applicant can find an institute or college to their liking. I wish you success and make the right choice,
– noted Timur Aramisov.
The scientific director of the department of theory and technology of social work at KBSU, Bashir Khubiev, told the children about the profession of a social worker:
At our university, the specialty “Social work” was opened in 1993 among the first five universities in the country. 30 years have passed, but the relevance of the direction remains high. The profession of a social worker is similar to the work of rescuers and doctors. People who find themselves in difficult life situations turn to both. For example, in Covid hospitals, along with doctors, 220 social work specialists worked.
The head explained that sociology is the science that makes all other sciences, and that even mathematics and philosophy cannot do without sociology. Department of Theory and Technology of Social Work Zarema Atabieva.
The profession of a sociologist is new relative to other sciences and professions, because it is less than a hundred years old. It was created as a science, and then as a professional direction in response to the social problems that existed in society. And today, when we are again experiencing another transformation, it seems to me that it is more relevant than ever. Sociologists study society, and most importantly, they can change it. And if, as Bashir Bilyalovich says, social work is a social physician, I can say with confidence that a sociologist is also a social physician. He does not treat specific people or groups, but the whole society. To do this, a sociologist must be inquisitive, responsible, active, and intellectual. I hope that you will demonstrate all these qualities as part of our intellectual game,
– said Zarema Atabieva.
Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Technology of Social Work Aneja Kushkhova wished the high school students a good time, good luck and expressed hope that in the future they will enroll in the direction of “Sociology”, because the future of social consciousness is in the hands of a sociologist.
At the end of the official part, the schoolchildren competed in “Their Game”, prepared by students of the SHI KBSU.
And what holiday would be complete without concert performances? Students of SHI KBSU delighted the guests with excellent creative performances.
