Snowdrops have blossomed in the Botanical Garden of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University
Snowdrops and hellebores have blossomed in the open air in the Botanical Garden of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.
The primroses have blossomed due to abnormal weather. In Nalchik, the air has warmed up to +15 degrees these days.
However, today the weather has returned to its usual course, the temperature in the republic has dropped to minus 1, but, according to the director of the Botanical Garden of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University Murat Bakhov, the plants are not in danger, they can withstand more severe cold.
Hellebore, along with yew, is used in folk medicine to treat cancer. Since it is widely destroyed by collectors of medicinal herbs, it is listed in the Red Book.
And for a bouquet of snowdrops in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, a fine of 2 to 500 thousand rubles is threatened.
Wild garlic has also reached solid shoots. Due to predatory mass collection, it also fell under the threat of extinction and is therefore listed in the Red Book of Kabardino-Balkaria.
The Botanical Garden of KBSU is a unique living natural object: here, in a limited area, there are representatives of subtropical, temperate and northern flora.
