Sculpture Is A Life Inside Of The Stone

In the creative workshop of Herman Pashtov there was a meeting with the well-known in the republic and in Russia sculptor, honored art worker of the KBR, honored artist of the Russian Federation, laureate of the State Prize of Kabardino-Balkaria Mikhail Tkhakumashev with students and teachers of the Institute of Architecture, Construction and Design.

Mikhail Tkhakumashev is the author of sculptural monuments to Ali Shogentsukov, Bekmurza Pachev, Kaisyn Kuliev and Alim Keshokov, the soldiers of the 115th Cavalry Division, as well as to the statesmen Betal Kalmykov and Timbor Malbakhov.

At the meeting, the sculptor confessed that the work on each memorial was a serious test for him, affecting his personal feelings, reminding of close people. According to the sculptor, a crucial stage in his life was the creation of the image of the revolutionary and party figure Betal Kalmykov. He detailed the story of the creation of the sculpture from the idea, to its embodiment, which was very interesting for students.

The meeting was also made by Associate Professor of the Department of Architectural Design, Design and Arts and Crafts, the head of the team of the Memorial Friendship Arch in Nalchik Muzarib Bzhakhov. He talked about joint projects with Mikhail Tkhakumashov.

In conclusion, the director of the Institute of Architecture, Construction and Design Tolya Hezhev thanked the famous sculptor for an interesting and fascinating conversation with the students, wished health and further creative success.
