«Russia in the Heart»: KBSU Awards International Students Winning a Creative Competition

A gala awards ceremony for the participants and winners of the «Russia in the Heart: My Story» competition was held at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov (KBSU). The event, organized by the KBSU Graduate School of International Education (GSME), brought together more than 60 students from nearly 40 countries, who expressed their love and respect for the country that has become their second home through their creativity.

The competition, timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, served as a platform for discovering the talents of international students. The students presented their creative works to the jury in the categories «A Word about Russia,» «Images of Russia,» and «Digital View,» demonstrating a unique perspective on the culture, history, and traditions of our country.

Opening the ceremony, Vadim Lesev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at KBSU, addressed those gathered in the hall. He thanked the participants for their hard work and heartfelt approach to completing the assignments.

«You not only demonstrated your skills, but also gave us a piece of your soul, your perception of our country,» Vadim Lesev remarked.
Asiyat Zhurtova, Director of the Graduate School of International Education at KBSU, congratulated the competition winners and emphasized the importance of such creative projects.

«This is an indicator of our joint work, our shared understanding of the beautiful country in which we live. It’s gratifying to see that the students, who came from nearly 40 countries, have such a beautiful view and feel of Russia. Thank you for this. I thank the university administration for their support of our competition. We are holding it for the second time, and I hope it will become a good tradition,» said Asiyat Zhurtova.
The Director of the Graduate School of International Education presented diplomas to all participants in the creative competition. The ceremony culminated with the announcement of the winners in the main categories:

– Srivastava Shaili won the «Word about Russia» category.

– Leyli Allyeva won the «Images of Russia» category.

– Dagli Hasan Eray was recognized as the best in the «Digital View» category.

The Audience Award was won by Alina Kuzina, Arnab Karmakar, and Bhagat Arya. Melissa Shuvalova received the Special Jury Prize.
