Results of the first week of the admission campaign at KBSU

Release date: 03.07.2025

The admission campaign for 2025 has started at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. 235 applications were submitted in the first week. There is already a special demand for some areas of training. This trend traditionally concerns the medical specialties «General Medicine» and «Dentistry». Interest is also growing in such areas as «Chemistry», «Biology» and «Chemical Technology». In addition, «Jurisprudence» and «Economics» are popular. It is interesting to note that a significant number of applications were received for the areas of «Tourism» and «Hotel Business». Young people motivate their choice by the fact that the tourism cluster and federal projects are actively developing in the republic, and they want to contribute to the development of the region.

KBSU is also actively working on targeted admission. All vacancies from employers were collected and posted before July 10. Now applicants have until July 25 to submit applications on the Rabota Rossii portal. It is important to note that career growth opportunities exist not only for economists, lawyers, and doctors. Teachers, linguists, engineers, and IT specialists also have many prospects.

The process of submitting documents and enrolling in the university raises many questions, so Albina Vindizheva, Head of the Department for Work with Applicants, answered the most pressing of them.

Consent for enrollment, what is it, how and when to submit it?

– Consent for enrollment is a document confirming the applicant’s desire to study at the chosen university. In 2025, this consent must be submitted for enrollment. Without it, the applicant will not be able to apply for a budget place, even with high results.

Submitting consent automatically assigns the highest passing priority to the specialty, but does not exclude it from other lists. The applicant can re-submit consent for a higher-priority area once a day. Submission deadlines may differ for bachelor’s, specialist and master’s degrees, so it is important to follow the information on the university website.

You can submit your consent in person at the admissions office or through State Services. The original certificate is required for enrollment in secondary vocational education. When entering a master’s program, you must provide the original bachelor’s or specialist’s diploma.

On the importance of individual achievements!

— When entering a university, every point can be decisive. Therefore, if an applicant has any individual achievements, they must be provided to the admissions office.

List of general individual achievements taken into account when accepting students

A university can add no more than 10 additional points to the total USE scores based on individual achievements. But it is important to understand that even if you have a gold or silver medal, other individual achievements can play a role if the scores are equal.

Entering a university after college

— Starting from the new academic year, the admission rules for applicants with secondary specialized education will change. You can only enter a specialty of the same profile that you have already received by taking internal exams.

Those who want to get a different profession need to pass the Unified State Exam and enter on a general basis.

I recommend thinking through your career path and the opportunities that your chosen education will provide in advance. This will help you avoid uncertainty and make the right choice.

What will change for those entering the fee-paying department?

– Most likely, they will face a serious competition. The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia has set a fixed number of places for student admission, and we cannot accept more than this. For example, 200 contract places have been allocated for the specialty «General Medicine», it will be impossible to take 201 students. Therefore, it is important to think through all the options in advance, evaluate your scores and submit documents correctly in order to protect yourself in all possible areas.

The admissions campaign continues. We wish everyone good luck in preparing documents and do not be afraid to ask questions!
