Results of the 2025 admission campaign at KBSU
Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov has completed the 2025 admission campaign. A total of 4,930 students were enrolled, including 753 foreign citizens.
In addition to those admitted from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, KBSU attracted applicants from 37 regions of the Russian Federation. Among the regions not represented in 2024 are Bashkortostan, Bryansk Oblast, Donetsk People’s Republic, Kaliningrad Oblast, Komi Republic, Lugansk People’s Republic, Mari El Republic, Orenburg Oblast, Sakhalin Oblast, Sevastopol, Ulyanovsk Oblast, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra Autonomous Okrug.
In 2025, KBSU accepted foreign students from 16 countries. Turkmenistan retained its leading positions in terms of the number of enrolled students — 405 students; India — 290 students. This year, the number of students from Egypt increased — from 6 to 10 people; Palestine — from 1 to 4 people. The geography of foreign students has also expanded. For the first time, the university accepted students from Burundi and Sierra Leone.
According to the results of the 2025 admissions campaign, the number of high-scorers at KBSU was 132 students, which is 17 people more than last year. The average Unified State Exam score of those admitted also increased to 68.83, despite the fact that the average score of KBR graduates this year is 9 points lower than last year.
The largest number of those enrolled under targeted admission were in the specialist programs (68 out of 80 allocated) and residency (48 out of 133 allocated).
The 2025 admissions campaign at KBSU demonstrated the constant interest of applicants in medical specialties, where the competition was 25 people per budget place and 11 per contract place. High demand was also observed in IT areas — 18 people per budget, 24 per contract; economics — 54 people per budget, 11 per contract. Jurisprudence traditionally attracts a large number of applicants with a competition of 62 people per budget and 10 per contract. Pedagogical specialties were also popular — 6 people per place both on the budget and on a contract basis. Thus, the 2025 admissions campaign at KBSU is characterized by an expansion of the geography of applicants, an increase in the number of high scorers and the maintenance of a stable demand for key areas of training.
