Research transformation of teacher education: KBSU staff at the XX Anniversary International Forum IFTE-2024

The XX Anniversary International Forum on Teacher Education IFTE-2024 “Research transformation of teacher education: traditions as a basis for innovation” was held in Kazan. KBSU was represented by Olga Mikhailenko, director of the IPP and FSO of KBSU.

The event was organized by the Institute of Psychology and Education of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University.

More than 1,000 scientists and teachers from Russia, China, India, South Africa, Brazil, Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other countries took part in the forum. Issues of scientific integration of researchers from the BRICS countries, promotion of the experience and values ​​of Russian education in the world, as well as prospects for using Russian and foreign experience in the training of teaching staff were discussed.

Director of the Institute of Applied Psychology and Social Protection of KBSU Olga Mikhailenko and her deputy for research work Rimma Bagova made a report “Motivation for the professional career of future teachers: a dynamic study,” in which the results of KBSU were announced at the next stage of the interuniversity longitudinal study.

Olga Mikhailenko also took part in an open extended meeting of the Federal Educational Institution of Higher Education on UGSN 44.00.00 Education and Pedagogical Sciences. The focus is on the draft implementation plan for the Concept of training teachers for the education system for the period until 2030.

The meeting agenda includes the announcement of work results for 2022-2024 and proposals for 2025-2030 in several areas, including ensuring unity of approaches to training future teachers, improving the system for assessing the quality of teacher training, developing the human resources potential of educational organizations, introducing a system of measures to identify and support of talents, as well as integration of the teaching staff training system in solving the problems of digital transformation of the economy, and other areas.

Particular attention was paid to the role of digital transformation and working with artificial intelligence, as well as the need to build up government digital services and train students and teachers to work with them.

Concluding the meeting, the organizers expressed gratitude to the country’s pedagogical universities for developing the basic version of the Concept, noting that improving the education system is a common task in which pedagogical universities play a key role.

Thanks to the research of the Forum participants, it is possible to compare the unique experience of different countries in the transformation of educational policy, the best university practices and teaching technologies, and to determine international trends in teacher training for the coming years,

On behalf of the leadership of KBSU, she presented the director of the IPO KFU, the organizer of the IFTE-2024 Forum Aidar Kalimullin with a memorable gift — a painting by the famous artist of the KBR Aslan Karmokov, wished the participants fruitful work and effective dialogue in determining strategies for the development of teacher education, and expressed hope for continued cooperation.
