Release date: 02.05.2024

KBSU’s rector Yuri Altudov took part in the youth media forum “Ahead of Events”, organized by the North Caucasus Federal University.

Over 300 students representing various media outlets had the opportunity to attend lectures, master classes and meet with professionals from the media field.

The main event of the forum was the opening of the Federal Student Media Center on the basis of NCFU, in which Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky took part. He noted that the Media Center, first of all, is an opportunity for student activists to interact with colleagues from other regions, participate in various events, get to know their country better, and share information content.

Rector Yuri Altudov noted that the opportunities provided to young people today will help them determine their career goals and become part of the Russian student team. Already today, the media center has become a place of attraction for the ideas of young leaders and will strategically influence their level of involvement in the activities of the entire region.

An educational program was also organized as part of the forum, including lectures, master classes and communication with speakers on content creation.

Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Integrated Security of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Anna Gureeva emphasized that students themselves create and support media projects, providing information not only about what is happening at their universities, but also actively participate in important events in the country.

In addition, a meeting was held between Konstantin Mogilevsky and the rectors of universities in the North Caucasus Federal District, at which cooperation between universities in the region and the possibility of holding exams on knowledge of the Russian language, traditions and history of Russia for foreign citizens were discussed.

The speakers noted the importance of cooperation between federal and regional authorities and universities to achieve the task set by the President of Russia — attracting foreign citizens to the country who respect the laws and traditions of the Russian Federation.

Acting rector of KBSU Yuri Altudov is confident that managing this process will be effective.

The government is actively developing migration policy, providing new opportunities for issuing certificates. Universities will need time to rebuild, but they will cope with the task of accepting migrants, thanks to the availability of qualified specialists and the appropriate material and technical base. KBSU is ready for work from May 1, 2024.
