Primroses have blossomed in the Botanical Garden of KBSU
Siberian squill, common primrose, two-leaved snowdrop, tender anemone, five-leaved heart, pink-purple corydalis — these are just some of the primroses that have blossomed with the arrival of warm weather in the Botanical Garden of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov.
Some of the plant species presented in the garden are listed in the Red Book of Kabardino-Balkaria. These rare and unique specimens emphasize the inexhaustible wealth and amazing diversity of the natural heritage of our region. Their protection is not just a matter of biological diversity, but also an important aspect of maintaining the ecological balance.

The Botanical Garden of KBSU was founded in 1953.
It is included in the register of botanical gardens of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and specially protected natural areas.
The open-ground collections include 98 species from 66 genera of trees and 580 species from 405 genera of herbaceous plants, the greenhouse collection — 105 species from 43 genera. There are 30 Red Book species.
The Botanical Garden is located in the Central Caucasus, where at the junction of the spatial migration route, a unique fauna and flora with its own community structure has developed.
Representatives of subtropical, temperate and northern flora are found in a limited space.
