Participants of the «Dynasties of Heroes» career guidance forum visited Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. The project, initiated at the request of the Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Kazbek Kokov, has been helping children of special military operation participants and veterans choose their future professions and find their path to successful self-realization for the second year in a row.

Zalina Gergova, Head of the KBSU Department of Educational Work, welcomed the university guests. She spoke in detail about the opportunities offered by one of the leading universities in the North Caucasus.

«KBSU is a classic university where you can receive a high-quality education in virtually any field. Today, we have approximately 19,000 students enrolled in 14 academic departments. The university offers not only academic knowledge but also a vibrant extracurricular life: 23 student clubs, 7 sports sections, and 4 creative groups. «KBSU is an accredited state university, and its diploma opens doors to employment both in Russia and abroad,» noted Zalina Gergova.

The guests were particularly impressed by the well-developed infrastructure and modern learning environment. Students have access to 10 dormitories, a sports complex with a swimming pool and gyms, and the unique Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex, which regularly hosts scientific and youth forums, conferences, and educational sessions.

Among the newest student attractions are the «Entrepreneurial Boiling Point» coworking center, the recently opened «Altair» student center, and the Unified Service Center. The university also prides itself on the KBSU Military Training Center, where students undergo two years of competitive military training in the specialties of UAV operator and aircraft mechanic. Studying at the military training center provides the opportunity not only to obtain a profession but also the military rank of sergeant.

Zalina Gergova emphasized that the university places special emphasis on student career development, with a Career Development Office and a Career Development Center within its structure. A student support system is also in place, ranging from state scholarships to a series of scholarships available even to contract soldiers.

Following the meeting, forum participants learned about KBSU’s admissions rules and were invited to participate in the North Caucasus Open Olympiad. Olympiad winners and runners-up receive additional points toward their Unified State Exam scores when applying to the university.

After learning about the university’s facilities, the guests embarked on a tour of its key academic departments. They visited the Medical Academy, the Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Institute of Law, Economics, and Finance, and the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Physical Education and Sports Education, where they participated in engaging master classes, quizzes, and other interactive activities.

The «Dynasties of Heroes» project is organized by the regional ministries of Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Education.
