Release date: 10.12.2025

On Heroes of the Fatherland Day, an exhibition by the M.B. Grekov Studio of Military Artists opened at Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. The exhibition is dedicated to the heroism of the defenders of the Fatherland—the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the participants of the special military operation.

Visitors were presented with paintings by the Studio’s renowned artists. Each work is not only a work of art but also a deep dive into history, recreating authentic events, emotions, and heroism displayed in different eras.

The works by the Grekov Studio artists evoke powerful emotions and leave a lasting impression on viewers. As Artem Gorny, Director of the Department of Culture of the Russian Ministry of Defense, noted, the Studio’s artists have faithfully served not only art but also the Fatherland for decades, «in the country’s most heated zones, in every corner, and in the most remote garrisons.»

«Each work by the Studio is a historical work. It meticulously reconstructs uniforms, military equipment, and natural landscapes corresponding to a particular historical moment depicted in a painting or sculpture. This is true art, created with respect for truth and memory,» Artem Gorny emphasized.
The exhibition’s organizers—staff from the Center for Civic-Patriotic Education of the Educational Work Department of Kabardino-Balkarian State University—expressed hope that the exhibition will inspire students to a deeper study of Russian history, awaken respect for the country’s heroic past, and strengthen the continuity of patriotic traditions.
