Olympiad in the Karachay-Balkar language was held at KBSU

February 17, on the eve of the International Mother Language Day, at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov hosted an Olympiad for schoolchildren in the Karachay-Balkarian language and literature. The main goals of the Olympiad, according to its organizers, employees of the Department of Karachay-Balkarian Philology of the KBSU, are the development of interest in the native language and culture, the popularization of scientific knowledge, assistance to young people in career guidance and the choice of educational trajectories. With the wishes of the successful completion of tasks, the participants were addressed by the head.

Department of Karachay-Balkarian Philology Mussa Ketenchiev. He introduced potential applicants to the specialties available at the Social and Humanitarian Institute of KBSU in the direction of «Philology». The Olympiad tasks included 15 test questions on the Karachay-Balkarian language and literature, grammatical analysis of the text and writing an essay on the topic “The symbol of the headscarf in the Karachay-Balkarian culture”. When evaluating the work, the expert commission, in addition to the correct answers, will pay attention to the richness and coherence of speech, the ability of children to think logically. The results of the Olympiad in the Karachay-Balkar language and literature will be published on the KBSU website. February 19 at 10.00 in the building of the Institute of Physics and Mathematics of the KBSU will host the Mathematics Olympiad «Imaginary One».
