Nalchik mourns with Makhachkala. A mourning meeting was held at KBSU
The tragedy has happened in Dagestan on August 14. On the square in front of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov held a mourning action in memory of those killed during the explosion at a gas station in Makhachkala.
On the evening of August 14, a car service caught fire on the outskirts of Makhachkala, then the fire spread to a gas station, after which an explosion thundered.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 35 people died, including three children, 80 were injured. Most — 67 people — were hospitalized.
Experts from the leading clinics of the Ministry of Health flew to Dagestan on a special flight of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. On the spot, they held consultations, and also decided whether there was a need to transport any of the victims to Moscow for treatment.
The words of sorrow and condolences to the fraternal peoples of Dagestan were expressed by the Minister for Youth Affairs of the KBR Azamat Lyuev, Deputy. Minister of Education and Science of the KBR Achemez Mokaev, Minister of Nationalities and Public Projects of the KBR Anzor Kurashinov, Minister of Digital Development of the KBR Islam Ashkhotov, acting Murat Gukepshokov, Vice-Rector of KBSU for Personnel and Organizational and Legal Affairs, acting KBSU Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, Educational Work and Social Affairs Sultan Gekkiev, chairman of the primary trade union organization of KBSU workers Igor Kobozev, student activists of KBSU.
Today, we, the whole country, including Kabardino-Balkaria, mourn together with the people of Dagestan in connection with that terrible tragic incident that took place there and claimed dozens of lives. We express words of support to the families and friends of the victims, the people of Dagestan at this difficult time,

After laying flowers at the memorial, people honored the memory of the dead with a minute of silence.
