Microbiology Olympiad held at KBSU

A microbiology Olympiad was held at the Medical Academy of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. Fifteen student teams competed for the title of the best in various competitions.

The students solved crosswords and answered quiz questions related to key terms in the field of microbiology. Excerpts from thematic films allowed the participants to discuss real cases from practice. And during the test with a black box, the teams identified microscopic samples, developing practical skills.

The teams’ performances were assessed by the Deputy Director of the Medical Academy for Research, Head of the Department of General Medical Training and Medical Rehabilitation Irina Tkhabisimova; Head of the Department of Normal and Pathological Human Physiology Irina Borukaeva; Head of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology Zaira Kharaeva.

The winner was the team «Candida Ravenclaw», in second place were the «Microbe Hunters», and the third place was taken by the «Biological NINDZs». All of them are studying in the specialty «Medicine».
