Meeting of the student activists with the administration of KBSU

On December 6, 2022, within the framework of the project «Your move» at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University. H. M. Berbekov, a meeting was held. Rector of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov Yuri Altudov with student activists of the university on topical issues of youth policy.

In the hall of the Center for Culture. H.S. Temirkanov was attended by vice-rectors of the university, representatives of the educational departments of the university responsible for educational work, members of the student council, student trade union committee, leaders of clubs, circles, student representatives of communities in the following areas: sports, creativity, science, volunteerism, career guidance, career and employment, etc.

«At the university, everything should be directed to the benefit of students, for whom universities were created. I invite you to an open discussion, any questions have the right to be discussed. I hope that our conversation today will turn out to be frank and confidential», — Yuri Altudov addressed the young audience.

The organizers — employees of the department for youth policy and educational work — grouped the questions into several thematic blocks — «Student self-government», «The role of the headman in a modern university», «Career», «Mental health», «Student today and tomorrow», «Sustainable development ”, “Co-management of the university”.

What should modern student government look like? What student communities need to be developed? What functionality can be given to the headman? What opportunities to give him? Is it possible to find a job after graduating from university at KBSU? — the head of the university expressed his point of view on these and other issues. In addition, students asked acting. rector of KBSU to give them advice on how to cope with nervous tension during sessions, for example. To which they received the answer:

«If you love your job, the subject you are engaged in, then it is easy to deal with stress. There is a recipe: to find yourself, your favorite thing, and then stressful situations won’t appear».

«In my opinion, today’s student has become more authoritative, his opinion is very important for us, teachers and administration. Nevertheless, the end result should be the same — to become a person, to benefit society, to be in demand, successful and, of course, a highly paid specialist. The ultimate goal of education is to get a decent job, and in modern conditions, KBSU graduates should not only claim the jobs available in the region, but create new jobs — for themselves and a few others, thereby expanding employment opportunities for the local population and making a contribution in the development of the economy of our republic, developing entrepreneurship, including technology», — Yuri Altudov is sure.

The students did not bypass the question of the program «Priority 2030» and the participation of KBSU in it. The goal of the Priority 2030 program is to form in Russia by 2030 more than 100 progressive modern universities — centers of scientific, technological and socio-economic development of the country. By participating in Priority 2030, we want to influence the development of our region. Within the framework of the program, a system of measures has been defined to ensure the achievement of target tasks, — Yury Altudov explained.

Summing up the meeting, acting the rector of KBSU asked his question to the students: “Do you like our university?”, To which he received a friendly affirmative answer.
