Master class in psychology for KBSU students

A master class on the topic «How to cope with stress before defending a project» was held for students of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov. The speaker was Rimma Bagova, PhD in Psychology, deputy director of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education for R&D and Informatization. More than a hundred students came to listen to the lecture.

The guys were greeted by Olga Mikhaylenko, director of the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University. She advised trying to protect themselves from negativity and change their attitude towards themselves in the fight against stress.

When faced with difficulties and plunging into anxiety, we often automatically begin to criticize not only those around us, but also ourselves, sometimes completely without reason. If the stress is prolonged and you cannot influence its source, then concentrate on taking maximum care of yourself. Fill your day with pleasant impressions. Notice the beautiful, new, interesting around you. Eliminate from your circle those people who humiliate, insult and treat you badly. Limit communication with those who doubt you, your abilities or qualities. If you can’t avoid communicating with them, then stop verbal passive aggression, poisonous jokes and sarcasm addressed to you,

Rimma Bagova, in turn, noted the role of mindfulness in combating stress:

It is important to understand that anxiety before a performance is a sign of activation and mobilization of the body, that is, it plays a positive role in activity. It is necessary to be able to regulate it and not allow extremely high and chronic stress.

As part of the master class, practical methods of regulating and reducing stress were also discussed. And Ruslan Zhidkov, a postgraduate student at the Institute of Pedagogical and Physical Sociology, spoke about the rules of project presentation, how to present it to experts in the most advantageous way.
