On July 19, 2022, as part of the summer school for teachers of secondary vocational education of the Lugansk State Pedagogical University, held on the basis of the Elbrus Educational and Scientific Center of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov, the participants visited the Pedagogical College and College of Design of the university. Olga Mikhailenko, Director of the Institute of Pedagogics, Psychology and Sports Education of the KBSU Olga Mikhailenko explained that the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov is a partner of the Lugansk State Pedagogical University. Our university received this status in accordance with the order of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov issued in May 2022, according to which KBSU was among the nine leading Russian universities that became strategic partners of the universities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. For several years, Berbekov Kabardino-Balkarian State University has been carrying out interuniversity cooperation with organizations of higher education in Donbass. Scientists, teachers, students and graduate students jointly participate in scientific conferences, competitions, public forums and other events. In 2022, cooperation agreements were signed by the heads of partner universities — Yury Kambulatovich Altudov and Zhanna Viktorovna Marfina. The work on cooperation between KBSU and the Lugansk State Pedagogical University in our university is supervised by the acting first vice-rector — vice-rector for academic affairs Vadim Nikolaevich Lesev. This work involves various departments of our university, including the Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Physical Culture and Sports Education of the KBSU. Employees of our institute have developed programs of additional professional education. During the internships of the teaching staff and students of the Luhansk State Pedagogical Institute on the basis of the Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex of the KBSU, they give lectures, conduct practical classes, and master classes. There is no doubt that the summer school for teachers of secondary vocational education will also be successful. WorldSkills Russia experts Lyudmila Kuzmenko and Fatima Kizarisova and 4th-year student Diana Dokshukina familiarized colleagues from Lugansk with the activities of the certified center of competence «Preschool Education», «Teaching in the Primary Grades» according to WorldSkills standards. The guests looked with great interest at the new interactive equipment of the college, on which the participants of the championship are trained. The Matatalab Robotics Lessons set for little programmers, an interactive sandbox, an interactive panel for didactic games, an interactive Smart board, Lego constructors and other technical innovations according to the standards of the WSR national finals impressed the teachers of SPO from Luhansk. Oksana Chudina, a lecturer at the Bryankovo College of the Leningrad State Pedagogical University, commented on her stay at KBSU:
“Kabardino-Balkarian State University kindly invited us to exchange experience within the framework of an official partnership. Today we were shown interactive platforms for the formation of professional competencies in the areas of «Preschool education» and «Teaching in the elementary grades.» For our young republic, this is, of course, an innovation. But teachers from Kabardino-Balkaria showed us what we need to strive for, taught us how to work with modern equipment. We thank the administration of KBSU for the warm welcome, for the experience that you shared with us.”
At the KBSU College of Design, Lugansk teachers were met by the Deputy Director of the Institute of Architecture, Construction and Design of the KBSU for secondary vocational education Alim Kanloev, who spoke about the history of the college and the main areas of student training. In the learning process, we focus on the traditional crafts of the Kabardians and Balkars, on their aesthetics, so that the future masters would be original, — said the head of the college. Alim Kanloev showed the guests traditional national costumes created by students, made in the ancient technique of arjena (rugs woven from natural materials), decorations with national ornaments and patterns, paintings painted during plein airs, the best projects of students in graphic design, interior design, landscape design design, etc. Zalina Khadzhiyeva, lecturer of the cyclic commission of costume design and image design, familiarized Luhansk teachers with the equipment of the site for the “Technology of Fashion” competence according to WorldSkills standards, noting that students have all the conditions to become professionals in their field — fashion designers. The guests saw the unique works of students, their author’s collections and were able to appreciate the level of their skills. Upon completion of the study tour of KBSU, the teacher of special disciplines Natalya Rabinovich of Luhansk specialized pedagogical college noted:
«I really liked the atmosphere in the design college of KBSU. Indeed, a workshop has been created that, with its atmosphere, inspires students to be creative. I really liked the teachers, who, as part of the organic atmosphere, charge students with their enthusiasm. The result was a composition of experienced and novice creators, which contributes to an effective educational process. The experience of the platforms of professional competencies according to the Worldskills standards of KBSU colleges will be very useful. We have not worked on them, and we do not have enough of it. We hold internal creative competitions, because the atmosphere of the competition educates our student in a special way, outside the educational process. The experience of preparing for the competition is a simulation of the production situation, so we see how useful it is for our students, we are trying to implement and support this state of the competition in student life.»
The summer school for teachers of the secondary vocational education of the Luhansk State Pedagogical University at KBSU continues. There are still many lectures, master classes and seminars from KBSU teachers ahead.
