Kindness As A Gift
Dance day, arranged by volunteers of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H. M. Berbekov at the Namys Republican Social and Rehabilitation Center for Minors did not leave a single child indifferent.
Despite the frost outside the window, the warm, sincere atmosphere of the New Year’s holiday reigned in the assembly hall of the center. Children jumped for joy, welcoming guests from the university, like fairy-tale heroes.
In the Namys center, children who have fallen into a difficult life situation and who are forced to be separated from their loved ones live and go through a psychologically long-pedagogical rehabilitation. You do not need to be a psychologist to understand how much they miss home, they want affection and positive emotions. That is why the volunteers tried to pay attention to each child, shake and cheer even those who were sitting on the sidelines, not wanting to enter into a dialogue.
The students did their best to make the children feel the festive New Year mood. Together with the kids, they danced until they fell, danced round the Christmas tree, played in “The Brook”, “Musical Chairs”, “Boyars” and other outdoor games.
As a gift to the students, the students brought fruit, but the main thing is what all the children need — kindness, attention and a kind word. Kids for a long time did not want to let go of the guests. And the KBSU volunteers, it seems, will long remember the warmth of children’s palms and their sincere embrace.
