KBSU was among the nine leading Russian universities — partners of Donbass universities
The Russian Ministry of Education and Science has approved a list of Russian universities that will cooperate with the universities of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic and provide them with methodological and consulting support. This was announced by the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov during a meeting with the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education Sergey Kabyshev and the Minister of Education and Science of the DPR Mikhail Kushakov. Leading Russian universities will support Donbas universities in organizing educational, scientific (research) and extracurricular activities. The corresponding order has already been signed by the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
Partners will be:
St. Petersburg Mining University and Donetsk National Technical University, Russian University of Economics named after G.V. Plekhanov and Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky, Moscow State Law University named after O.E. Kutafin (MSAL) and Donbass Academy of Law, Don State Technical University and Donbass National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Southern Federal University and Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages, Moscow Automobile and Highway State Technical University (MADI) and Donetsk Academy of Transport, Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Valery Falkov noted that the list of universities will be expanded to include all the universities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.
“Our task is to help Donbas universities develop. Leading Russian universities took the initiative to become curators of specialized universities in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. The main resource is the intellect, time and attention that we must devote to our colleagues. Already, advanced training courses for teachers of universities in Donbass have been organized, platforms have been opened for the collection and transfer of educational and scientific literature to higher educational institutions of the DPR and LPR,” — said Valery Falkov.
The next step towards rapprochement, according to the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, will be the implementation of the «Double Diploma» program by the universities of the Russian Federation and universities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. As part of the networking of universities, students from the DPR and LPR will be able to pass the final state certification at their university and at the university of the Russian Federation upon graduation in order to receive two diplomas.
“Education has always been a key area that determines the life of the people in the future. We are faced with the difficult task of restoring the education system of the DPR, improving both the quality of education for the younger generation and the qualifications of existing teachers. Today, partnerships are developing dynamically. Of particular note is the positive practice of cooperation within the framework of the supervision of the universities of the Russian Federation over the relevant universities of Donbass and the introduction of a double diploma program,” — Sergey Kabyshev emphasized.
Minister of Education and Science of the DPR Mikhail Kushakov thanked Valery Falkov and Sergey Kabyshev for their help in developing the republican system of science and higher education.
“We highly appreciate the assistance provided by the Russian Federation, Russian universities in the development of the system of higher education and science in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Today, Donetsk universities, with the support of universities of the Russian Federation, are undergoing Russian state accreditation. Graduates are preparing for a double final certification in order to receive diplomas from Russian universities. We are committed to further integration into the Russian scientific and educational space,” — said Mikhail Kushakov.
