KBSU teaches students in the most popular directions of education
The Higher School of Economics (HSE) and the Ministry of Education and Science presented the second part of monitoring the quality of admission to Russian universities based on the results of the 2022 admission campaign. It covered 812 universities. In the second part of the monitoring, an analysis of the enlarged groups of areas of training (UGN) was carried out. Monitoring has been carried out since 2010 and serves as an important indicator not only of the quality of knowledge of applicants enrolled in the first year, but also of the reputation of the universities themselves. The quality of admission is assessed by the average score of applicants enrolled in the first year following the results of the Unified State Examination.
The results of the winners and prize-winners of Olympiads for schoolchildren, who were enrolled by universities without entrance examinations, are counted as 100 points (by analogy with monitoring the effectiveness of universities of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation). The top largest receiving destinations in 2022 have not changed compared to 2021. These include «Healthcare» and «Jurisprudence», according to which KBSU is in the top 50 universities in Russia in terms of the quality of admission based on the average USE score enrolled in state-funded places.
In the direction of «Health» 50,467 people were enrolled in Russian universities, here KBSU is in 15th place — the average score of applicants based on the results of the Unified State Examination is 77.2 points. In the direction of «Jurisprudence», the number of students admitted to universities was 37,728 people, KBSU — 33rd place (86.6 — the average score for the Unified State Examination).
According to experts who note the growth in the quality of admission to KBSU in engineering and natural sciences, such as «Chemical and Biotechnology», «Biology», «Information Security» and «Quality Management», the university is also in the top 50. According to the compilers of the monitoring, the most expensive areas in terms of the average cost of education in Russian universities in 2022 were Design, Water Transport Management, Marine Engineering, Aviation Systems, and Oriental and African Studies. So, in the direction of training «Design», the North Caucasian Mining and Metallurgical Institute in Vladikavkaz became the leader among the universities of the North Caucasus Federal District in terms of the cost of education enrolled in paid places — 180 thousand rubles, the average USE score is 59.2.
At the North Caucasian Federal University (Stavropol), the cost of education is 211.3 thousand rubles, the average USE score is 61.5. They are followed by KBSU (Nalchik), where the cost of education in this area is 179.9 thousand rubles, while the university has the highest indicator in terms of the quality of admission based on the average USE score of those enrolled on a fee basis — 64.8, which indicates a higher level of training of applicants who want to become a designer.
