KBSU summed up the results of the festival dedicated to the heroic epic of the Karachay-Balkar people

More than 300 diplomas, over 100 certificates and other prizes, a sea of ​​positive and pleasure from acquaintance with the treasury of the heroic past of the Narts, reflected in literature and painting — these are the results of the first festival «Nart Debetni tuuduklary» / «Descendants of the Nart Debet», organized by the Center for Balkar Culture Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekova together with the Department of Culture and the Directorate of the Local History Museum of the Elbrus Municipal District.

The festival started on February 19, on the eve of the International Day of the Mother Language, at the same time at the KBSU and the Palace of Culture. K. Kuliev in the city of Tyrnyauz. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the summing up was postponed to September.

According to the head of the Center for Balkar Culture of the KBSU Svetlana Tyubeeva, the festival was organized with the aim of preserving and popularizing the Balkar language, educating the youth of citizenship and a sense of historical memory.

More than 500 people took part in five competitions of the festival: recitation of poems in different languages ​​dedicated to the heroes of the Nart epic, a competition of drawings and crafts on the theme of the festival, an intellectual cognitive competition, a competition of theatrical performances — more than 500 people took part — from preschoolers to students of Nalchik and the Elbrus region of the KBR , as well as students and schoolchildren of the village Vazhnoe Karachay-Cherkessia.

«The Nart epic unites the peoples of the North Caucasus. This is one of the most important parts of the national spiritual culture, which has survived to this day and must be carefully passed on to future generations. For this, we conduct such contests», — Larisa Bayzullaeva, a teacher of the Balkar language of KBSU, addressed the contestants.

In addition to diplomas, 12 participants of the festival received a special prize from a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of the KBR Liuan Akhmatov — a gift certificate for 3 free classes in drawing and painting.
