KBSU students were taught how to apply for the “Student Startup” competition
March 21, 2024 Grants Department of the Directorate for Scientific Research and Innovation Activities of Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov conducted a master class for students on registering and completing projects for the “Student Startup” competition of the Innovation Promotion Fund.
The main goal of the competition, according to the organizers, is to make universities a place for launching startups and to stimulate youth entrepreneurship in the country.
“Today’s meeting is aimed at helping you develop your future career. Be more confident in yourself, don’t be afraid to express your ideas. But success also depends on how well the grant application is submitted. Our management staff will tell you what to look for when registering for the competition,”
– welcoming the meeting participants, noted the head of the KBSU UNIID Natalya Cherkesova.
Employees of the grants department of UNIID KBSU Inal Makhov and Kanamat Kurashev explained to students that the “Student Startup” competition can be submitted by students in bachelor’s, specialist’s, master’s or postgraduate programs who are ready to develop a new product, product, technology or service based on their own scientific research. technical and scientific-technological research with prospects for commercialization.
Two thousand people whose applications are recognized as the best by an expert jury will receive grants in the amount of 1 million rubles for the implementation of a startup.
Based on their experience of participating in grant competitions, the speakers explained in detail how to prepare an application for participation in the “Student Startup”, fill out its sections related to the scientific and technical part, commercialization of the project, and formulate a project implementation plan.
As questions arose among the listeners, the following points were discussed: who should sign the application, whether there are age restrictions for participants in the competition, if you win, how to report for the grant received, and others.
Concluding the meeting, UNIID staff recommended that students carefully read the Instructions for filling out the application. Prepare additional documents: a scanned copy of a certificate confirming that the participant is a student of KBSU, and received no earlier than three months before the date of announcement of the competition; a scanned copy of a certificate confirming the university’s consent to implement the startup project and the absence of a conflict of interest in terms of the use of intellectual property (the template for the certificate is in Appendix No. 7 of the Competition Regulations); a scanned copy of the notice of arrival of a foreign citizen or stateless person at the place of stay or a scanned copy of a residence permit containing a page with the place of registration (only for foreign citizens).
